Discover Deep River
Established in 1635 and nestled in the Connecticut River Valley surrounded by the natural beauty of Southern New England, Deep River is the oldest of its sister towns, Chester and Essex. Originally named Town of Saybrook, it was officially changed in 1947 to Deep River, the main river that powered the mills.
As a mill town, it flourished during the Industrial Revolution with finely-crafted products from piano keyboards to drill bits and now continues the spirit of industry and craftmanship.
To many residents and visitors, Deep River resides in a blessed bubble this side of The Milky Way.
